Full-Thickness Rotator Cuff Tear with Surgical Repair

This medical exhibit diagram depicts a full-thickness tear injury of the right supraspinatus muscle tendon, one of the rotator cuff tendons, or SIT group. Subsequent medical illustrations show surgical repairs of the torn muscle tendon. After an incision is made in the region of the injury, the supraspinatus muscle tendon is trimmed and reattached to the humerus. Afterward, an acromioplasty (surgical removal of the acromion process) is performed to relieve pressure on the muscle belly.
