Carcinoma and surrounding tissue is removed completely; C. Post-operative appearance with small scar. Radical mastectomy steps: A. Large incision from the axilla across the breast; B. Breast tissue is dissected from the pectoralis muscle and removed; C. Post-operative appearance with large scar and absent breast.
